Well another weekend has come and gone and it couldn’t go by without some more surprises. We’ll get it started out with my team that surprises me each week with a W… Denver remains undefeated at 5-0. This week was a little bit more impressive to me with a win over the Patriots, a team I had predicted to go to the Super Bowl. I can’t decide if it’s just my hate for the broncos that wishes them to do bad or if i really think they aren’t as good as their record shows. Never-the-less they are 5-0. Other undefeated teams include the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, and New Orelean Saints (who were on a bye). The Giants, Colts, and Vikes all won easily, although they were all playing some pretty pathetic teams in the Raiders, Titans, and Rams. Those teams have a combined one win and i’d say the Raiders are lucky to have that one win. But it doesn’t matter, we still have 5 undefeated teams.
In other news, the Bengals continue to roll with a big win over inter-division rival Baltimore Ravens. This was a close game but Cedric Benson was the first player to rush for 100 yards on the D in nearly 3 years. That’s impressive, but in the fac that the D has been that good and that Benson broke that streak. The Bengals in all reality should be 5-0 and the Broncos should have one loss, but we won’t get back into that arguement now. We’ll just say the Bengals are playing well and have a legit chance at making the playoffs and even winning their division with wins over the Steelers and Ravens early in the season.
Now on to some discussion about my favorite teams. The Chiefs decided to dissapoint and lose in OT to the Cowboys. The Cowboys did have a lot of penalties and were without their #1 WR and their #2 RB. But the Chiefs still played them close and could have won this game. Better luck next time boys. KC takes on a fairly weak Washington team next game, but it is on the road. At home I would pick the Chiefs but on the road I think Washington gets the slight edge. I hope the Chiefs can pull off the upset and get their first win.
How about those Seahawks? They look like a totally different team with Hasselbeck starting at QB. A very nice 41-0 victory over the Jax Jaguars. Like I said, if Hasselbeck can remain healthy, the Seahawks are the team to beat in the NFC west. A HUGE game this upcoming week against the AZ Cardinals will help in setting up who has the upper hand going forward in the fight for the NFC west top spot. The 49ers had quite a struggle in a big loss to the Falcons this past weekend, so we’ll see how they bounce back. I’m looking for the Seahawks to win this game and hopefully keep Hasselbeck healthy and make a run at the playoffs. Only time will tell…
